WINGATE, N.C. – For the first time this season, the 13^th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team suffered a South Atlantic Conference loss after falling to No. 16 Wingate University 4-3 on the road.
 
The Royals earned the first point of the match with two wins in doubles play, beginning with a 6-3 win at No. 2 by Edoardo Bottino/Edoaro Cecere. The duo of Paolo Bompieri/Kasper Rolfsen secure the point with a 7-6 victory in the top doubles flight.
 
In singles play, the Bulldogs won four-of-six flights to tally a come-from-behind win on their home court. Queens earned points at Nos. 2 and 3 as Bottino won 6-0, 6-2 and Cecere won 6-0, 7-6, 6-2 in their respective matchups.
 
Queens is back in action this Sunday when the team hosts Anderson University at 12:00 p.m. from the Howard Levine Tennis Center.
