WISE, Va.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team had their season come to a close this afternoon in an 85-63 loss to UVA Wise in the SAC Pilot Flying J Women's Basketball Championship.

Christina Deng finished the game with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Kalaya Hall added 12 points and three assists while
Caitlyn Moore chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in her final game with the Royals. Fellow senior
Lauren Fields recorded four points, six rebounds, and four blocks.

The Cavs started the game with a 4-0 lead, but
Kelsey Leedle hit a triple to cut the lead to one point. Queens later used back-to-back three-pointers to grab their first lead of the game, 11-10, with 5:14 left to play in the first quarter. By the end of the quarter that saw four lead changes and two ties, the Cavs led 22-19.

An 11-4 run at the start of the second for UVA Wise allowed them to build a 10-point lead, 33-23, by the 6:18 mark. A jumper from
Amari Davis followed by a fastbreak layup from
Taylor Stevens cut the deficit to six, 39-33, with 1:37 left in the half, but the Cavs closed with a 6-2 spurt to take a 45-35 lead at the halftime break.

UVA Wise took advantage of the Royals' foul trouble in the third growing the margin to as much as 18, 64-46, in the period. They then kept control of the game in the fourth seeing their largest lead of the day, 25 points, twice in the final two minutes of regulation.

Kalee Johnson led the Cavs with 30 points and 17 rebounds on the day while Caitlyn Ross added 20 points. Nia Vanzant chipped in 16 points and Ada Stanley totaled 11 rebounds.
