Price Collects Career Win No. 150 With Sweep of Alderson Broaddus

POST-MATCH INTERVIEW WITH HEAD COACH JEREMY PRICE

CHARLOTTE, N.C.
 – Head Men's Volleyball Coach Jeremy Price earned his 150th career coaching victory on Friday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-20) sweep of Alderson Broaddus University inside Curry Arena. Price is now one of just 28 active NCAA coaches with 150 or more career wins.

The Royals (4-7, 2-0 IVA) remained perfect in conference play after hitting a season-high .343 in the match and tying a program record with 11 service aces, including three from sophomore Jack Brinkman and two apiece from senior Tristan Santoyo and freshmen Ryan Cymbor and Fletcher Murphy.

Following a dominant opening set, the Royals' defense held Alderson-Broaddus (2-3, 0-1 IVA) to a -.353 hitting mark in a lopsided second set victory. Queens held the Battlers in check in the third and final set to earn the team's first sweep of the 2021 season.

A total of 10 different Royals collected a kill on the night led by senior Nic Cavallaro with six. Santoyo and fellow senior JP Payne each finished with five kills, while Cymbor and Murphy totaled four kills each. Sophomore setter Daniel Leitao dished out 27 assists in the match.

Queens will take to the road for its next two matches beginning with a non-conference tilt with Barton College next Wednesday, February 17 at 6 p.m. in Wilson, N.C.
