ANDERSON, S.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team was knocked out of the conference tournament tonight following a 1-0 overtime loss to Anderson University in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship.
The Trojans offense was aggressive this evening totaling 29 total shots, 11 of which were on goal. However, Queens'
Nicolai Andersen had a strong performance in goal recording a career-high 10 saves in the match to keep Anderson off the board until Harry Ward was able to net tonight's golden goal in the 99
th minute.
Anderson outshot Queens 29-7 as the Royals placed just four shots on goal.
Yuri Poplawski led the Royals with four shots.
With the loss, Queens completes conference post-season play. Additionally, the Royals were not ranked in the latest NCAA DII Men's Soccer Rankings which are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process. The Championship Selection Show is scheduled to air on Nov. 15. at 6:30 p.m.
