CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team (11-2) lost to American International College (7-2) in the NIRA Semifinals in a match that boiled down to the final play by a final score of 22-20.

After Queens took the the lead late in the second half, American International capitalized on a conversion in the final minutes to recapture a two point lead. The Royals pushed it down the field in the final minute but ran out of time suffering their second loss of the season.

Queens started the season 11-0 but lost its final two matches to fall short of reaching the NIRA Finals.

Queens Women's Rugby will announce its spring schedule in the upcoming months.
