CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey (7-11) team faced Frostburg State University this afternoon (2-15) falling to the Bobcats 5-3 in the nonconference match.
Trailing 1-0 heading into the second quarter, Queens was able to even the score in the 21
st when
Millie Eaton-Jones tapped in a shot from
Karlee Alt. However, the Bobcats responded with three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead into the halftime break.
In the third, Alt was able to find the back of the cage on a pass from
Gabe Lechner to close the gap to two in the 44
th. Alt then scored again in the fourth quarter after receiving a pass from
Molly Walter, bringing the Royals within one of Frostburg State in the 54
th minute of action.
Unfortunately for Queens, the goal from Alt in the fourth would be the final of the game for the home team as the Bobcats were able to score once more in the 60
th to secure their victory on the road.
Outshooting the Bobcats, 19-7, Queens had a hard time this afternoon finding the cage as they placed eight shots on goal. Frostburg State totaled seven shots on the day, placing them all on frame.
In goal,
Avian Thompson and
Marlee Geppert split time to combine for two saves. Madison Manalansan of the Bobcats finished the game with five saves.

Meagan Quigley,
Victoria Tredinnick, Eaton-Jones, Thompson, and Walter were all honored for their careers at Queens.
