MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team grabbed a 1-0 non-conference win over Georgia College, improving their record to 11-3-1 Wednesday night at Bobcat Field. The shutout win is the 10th of the season for Queens who hasn't lost a match since Oct. 9.
Alyssa Edwards scored the lone goal in the 43rd minute, assisted by freshman
Maddy Leone. The fifth-year forward now has three game-winners on the year.
The 1-0 score at the half ultimately held until the end of regulation.
Queens recorded nine shots on goal to Georgia College's four. In total, the Royals finished with 14 shots with Edwards' four leading the way.
Karen Juarez tallied three shots and
Eirinn McCafferty added two shots.
Erica Turner totaled four saves and picked up her second straight shutout win in goal giving her nine for the season.
The Royals will travel to Hartsville, S.C., to take on Coker University on Saturday, Oct. 30. The match is set to begin at 4:30 pm.
