Royals Defeat Lindenwood 4-1

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte came away victorious for the seventh time in the 2021 season following a 4-1 win over Lindenwood (6-8). This win now puts the Royals at 7-9 on the season after their conference play closed last Wednesday.

It was the Royals getting on the board early as Victoria Tredinnick got the scoring going with her eighth goal of the season. That score came in just the fifth minute of play on an assist from Molly Walter.

Irene Zvorsky would add to the lead midway through the second quarter with a goal assisted by Tredinnick. Lindenwood answered back minutes later, making it a 2-1 game as the teams headed into the halftime break.

In the second half, Tredinnick scored her second goal on the day in the 34th minute after tapping a ball from Gabe Lechner into the empty cage to put the Royals back on top by a pair. It's the second consecutive time that she has tallied two goals in a Royals win.

Walter then scored the final goal of the day in the 50th minute on a pass from Lechner as well.

Queens outshot Lindenwood 13-8, putting eight of their shots on goal. Avian Thompson earned the win in net splitting time in the cage with Marlee Geppert. The two combined for a pair of saves.

The Royals are back in action on Thursday, October 28 as they host Belmont Abbey at Bessant Field for Breast Cancer Awareness night. You can follow the Queens University Field Hockey team on Instagram and Twitter @QueensUFH.
