CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team (11-0) defeated Northern Iowa, Penn State, and East Carolina and celebrated its seniors in the final home match of the fall season.
Queens defeated Northern Iowa in 15's competition by a 48-0 margin. Eight different Royals scored tries in the victory including
Shelby Tippin,
Kamia Kruse,
Maddie Hughes,
Avery Kemora,
Annee Woozley,
Debora Tessou,
Haliegh Golden, and
Kayla Hoch. Hughes also added three conversions while Allie English scored one.
Queens next defeated Penn State (B-Side) in 15's by a final score of 27-12.
Megan Reed led the team with two tries.
The Royals capped the night with a decisive 53-0 win in 7's versus East Carolina.

Jenna Klenz paced the team with two tries each.

Abby Scott,

Hailey Thomas were honored after the first match.
All 60 members of the Queens roster competed in one of the three matches on Saturday. The team also hosted jersey ceremonies and a family luncheon for over 250 members of the Queens Rugby extended family prior to the opening kickoff.
Queens is on the road next Saturday, October 30 for its final regular season match at West Chester. A victory over the undefeated Golden Rams could send Queens directly to the NIRA Finals.
