Royals Extend Win Streak to Five with Home Win over Eagles

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- A goal in the 28th minute from Mia Manuel lifted the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team past Carson-Newman University (4-3-2, 3-2) this afternoon at Dickson Field. The win improves the Royals' record to 7-2 on the year and 5-0 in league play as they are one of three teams left unbeaten in South Atlantic Conference play.

Manuel's goal today was her fourth of the season moving her to the front of the pack of goal scorers for Queens. Maddy Leone recorded the assist on the goal after setting up Manuel nicely to place one in the back of the net in the first half of action.

Queens completed the game outshooting the Eagles, 13-6, putting six shots on goal. Additionally, Erica Turner recorded the shutout win in goal tallying her fifth of the season. She recorded two saves on the day.

Today's win over the Eagles was just the fifth in program history, and the second in a row after Queens defeated Carson-Newman, 2-1, on the road in 2019.

The Royals will have a week off before traveling to take on Lenoir-Rhyne on October 9.
