CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team (4-2; 4-0 Chesapeake Conference) won its home opener over Southern Virginia by a 42-17 final. The Royals remain undefeated in first place of the Chesapeake Conference in their inaugural season as a member.
The Royals took a 21-3 lead into halftime and rallied late scoring 14 straight points to win the match in decisive fashion.
Campbell Van Rooyen led the team in tries while
Tom Scott was a perfect 5-5 on conversions.
Queens is back on the road in conference competition at Virginia Tech on Saturday, October 23 at 1 p.m.
