Royals Shutout Trojans, 4-0

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Royals (5-8, 3-6) carried the momentum from their win earlier this week into their game this afternoon taking down Mount Olive (5-6, 5-5) in a decisive 4-0 victory. The win splits the home-and-home series with the Trojans in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas play this season.

Gabe Lechner got the scoring going early in the first quarter with her 10th goal of the season coming in the sixth minute. Millie-Eaton Jones then added onto the Royals lead midway through the second quarter with a goal of her own coming in the 23rd minute. Queens took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Royals kept the momentum rolling out of the break as Victoria Tredinnick made it a 3-0 game in the 34th minute. Eaton-Jones then closed the game out with her second goal of the day coming in the 58th minute.

The Royals played aggressively on the offensive end of the field this afternoon putting 12 of their 16 shots on goal. Avian Thompson had one save in her second half of work while Marlee Geppert was able to record the win, facing zero shots in her start in the net.

The Royals will be back in action this Sunday, October 17 at 12 p.m., when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to play Converse University in a matinée matchup. Be sure to follow the Royals on Instagram and Twitter @QueensUFH for updates and news.
