ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team continued its Midwest road trip on Friday night, taking the court against fifth-ranked Lewis University. The Flyers got the best of the Royals, winning 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-18) inside Neil Carey Arena.
Queens (1-3) and Lewis (2-0) went back-and-forth to open the match, playing to six ties early in the first set before the Flyers used a 4-1 run to build a three-point advantage following a kill from outside Ryan Coenen.

JP Payne, but Lewis pulled away late to earn a 1-0 match lead.
The second set of action held much of the same as the two sides traded points early until Lewis moved ahead by four points following a 6-2 run. Queens got within two points of tying the set after a kill from senior
Tristan Santoyo and a Coenen attack error, however, another late run for the Flyers gave the home team a two-set edge.
Lewis controlled the third and final set of play from start to finish, opening with seven consecutive points and hitting ??? in the frame to seal its second consecutive victory.
Coenen, the reigning MIVA Player of the Year and four-time AVCA All-American, led all players with 15 kills in the match and hit .560 on the pins.
Santoyo led the Royals with 12 kills and chipped in five digs on defense, while sophomore
Daniel Leitao had team-highs of 24 assists and seven digs.
Queens concludes its three-game road swing tomorrow afternoon when the team takes on Loyola University Chicago at 4:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
