CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team trailed by just four at the half before No. 13 Catawba College pulled away late for a 70-57 victory inside Curry Arena on Wednesday night. Junior center
Julia Raflund powered the Royals with 17 points and 19 rebounds in 37 minutes of action.
After trailing by eight through one quarter of play, Queens (3-12, 2-7 SAC) outscored the Indians (13-1, 8-1 SAC) by four in the second period to cut the halftime deficit to 35-31.
A 3-pointer from freshman
Kelsey Leedle early in the third cut the Catawba lead to two points, 37-35, before a 7-3 run put the Indians back ahead by seven. The Catawba lead stretched as large as nine points following a layup with 15 second to play.
Catawba opened the fourth quarter with five unanswered points to move the lead to double-digits at 65-51 and remained in front throughout to stay atop the South Atlantic Conference Standings.

Kristian Eanes finished with 10 points and Leedle followed with nine points of her own, while redshirt-freshman
Taylor Stevens registered eight points, eight rebounds and two steals.
The Royals remain in the Queen City for their next game on Saturday, January 18 against Mars Hill University at 2 p.m.
