WISE, VA. – Less than 24 hours after being swept, the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team turned the tables and defeated UVA-Wise 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-10) in the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the road.
Queens moved to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in South Atlantic Conference play after hitting a season-high .314 as a team and holding UVA-Wise to a .040 hitting mark, the sixth time this season the Royals have held an opponent under the .100 threshold. The Cavaliers fell to 1-9 and 0-7 in their first season in the conference.
UVA-Wise secure the first point in both the first and second sets of play but Queens never trailed again en route to a 2-0 match advantage. In the third, the Royals opened up a 4-0 lead before extending the advantage to 22-6 late in the frame as Queens completed the sweep with a kill from junior
Olivia Williamson.

Chanel Turner led all players with 12 kills and 14 digs, while fellow junior
Casey Tarvin registered 12 kills and nine digs of her own while hitting .333. Junior middle
Logan Witt hit .579 and tallied 11 kills to go along with seven total blocks. Senior
Mallory Swarts chipped in 37 assists from her setter position and had two service aces.
The Royals have a week off before returning to Tennessee next weekend for back-to-back contests against Carson-Newman University and Lincoln Memorial University.
