JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team opened its annual Tennessee road trip with a 3-2 (25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 13-25, 15-4) victory over the Eagles on Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference action. The Royals improved to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in SAC play, while the Eagles fell to 7-5 with a 5-4 League mark.
Queens collected consecutive 25-23 wins in the first and second sets of play before Carson-Newman responded with back-to-back wins of its own to force a deciding fifth set.

Logan Witt and
Chanel Turner sparked a 6-0 run to open the frame as the Royals cruised to an 11-point set win.
Five different players tallied double-digit digs for the Royals, led by Turner's career-high 28-dig performance. Fellow junior
JayCee Jones followed with 24 digs, while junior
Casey Tarvin and senior
Mallory Swarts each had 18 digs. Sophomore
Brooke Farley completed the double-digit dig performers, registering 13 digs of her own.
Tarvin led the Queens' attack with 16 kills to complete her fourth double-double of the season and Witt was close behind with 15 kills and a match-high .389 hitting percentage to go along with six total blocks. Swarts guided the offense with 36 assists for her sixth double-double of the year.
The Royals conclude the weekend tomorrow with a 2 p.m. matchup with Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
