CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (5-3-1, 1-2 SAC) struggled to slow down nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne (8-0; 3-0 SAC) this evening in its first South Atlantic Conference game at home this season, falling by a final score of 4-1.

The visiting Bears got an early head start with a goal from senior midfielder Asqa Mushtaq in the 10th minute followed by a connection between juniors Allie Zueger and Madi Kyle in the 27th minute to take a 2-0 lead. The Bears then extended their lead in the final minute of the half with a goal from senior midfielder Abigail McGarel to lock in a demanding three-score lead.

Queens found the back the net later in the evening courtesy of a brilliant stroke from freshman forward
Bryce Brozovich from outside the box in the 75th minute cutting the deficit back to three scores.

Erica Turner collected a career-high nine saves but surrendered four goals in the process.

Queens stays home this week hosting Tusculum in another South Atlantic Conference match on Wednesday, October 2nd at Dickson Field. Play is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
