Records Fall as No. 10 Queens Tops Mount Olive

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  –  The 10th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team picked up a South Region win over No. 24 Mount Olive this afternoon defeating the Trojans 15-5. The win improves Queens' overall record to 14-2 as the Trojans fall to 11-5 on the year.
 
Highlighting the day with a pair of career milestones were seniors Hanna Scott and Katie Wardle. With 22:26 on the clock in the second half, Scott scored her second goal of the day to become the all-time leader in goals at Queens with 169 career goals. She went on to finish the game with seven points on two goals and five assists. Additionally, Wardle netted her 100th career goal on her third of the day at 3:34 in the first. She went on to finish the game with five points on four goals and one assist.
 
In addition, Rachel Perrett had four goals today while Ally Blood and Kyleigh Masteran each had three points. Taylor Quade chipped in with two goals. Defensively, Cammy Case led with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Chase Brokaw totaled seven saves and four ground balls in goal.
 
After stringing together a pair of 3-0 runs to lead 6-1 with 17:01 to play in the first half, Queens opened the game up scoring six goals in a row to take a 12-2 lead into the halftime break. Both teams then added three goals to their point total in the second half to give the game its final score.
 
The Royals outshot the Trojans, 26-19, putting 24 shots on goal. The Royals also led in draw controls, 15-7, with Sydney Hussey's 10 leading the way. Additionally, Queens edged Mount Olive in ground balls, 19-18.
 
Jackie Kederabek led the Mount Olive with two goals this afternoon. In goal, Siena Miller took the loss after totaling eight saves in 30 minutes of play.
 
The Royals will finish out the regular season looking to clinch their fifth SAC Regular Season Championship on Saturday, April 20 at home against Wingate University. Saturday will also be Senior Day and play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
