Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 14 Queens Wins 6th-Straight Game

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  –  The 14th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team defeated the Coker Cobras this afternoon forcefully picking up a 25-1 win at Dickson Field. Queens outshot Coker 41-4 en route to picking up its sixth-straight win which improves the Royals' record to 9-2 on the year and 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Cobras drop to 4-6 on the year and 1-4 in league action.
 
Queens quickly jumped out to a 10-0 lead in today's game triggering the running clock rule with 21:17 left to play in the first half. The margin would grow to 15 before Coker found the back of the net for their only goal of the day at 1:02 giving the game a 15-1 score at the break.
 
In the second half, Queens held the Cobras scoreless while adding 10 more points to their score.
 
Ally Blood matched her career-high in points this afternoon recording nine points on two goals and seven assists. Hanna Scott added six points on one goal and four assists while Kara Blanchard, Katie Wardle, and Rachel Perrett each notched four goals. Allison Conn chipped in with four points on a hat trick and one assist and Carson Giordano and Taylor Quade added three points apiece.
 
Queens put 33 of its 41 shots on goal this afternoon as the Cobras recorded three shots on goal. The Royals also won the battle at the draw, 17-10, and totaled 29 ground balls to Coker's four ground balls.
 
Faith Kent, the SAC's leading scorer, was held to just one goal for the Cobras on the day. Olivia Fladung took the loss in goal after totaling eight saves.
 
The Royals will be on the road for their next four games facing Catawba College first on April 3 at 7 p.m.
