Shaun Willett recorded his NCAA-leading 21
st double-double and
Lewis Diankulu added his seventh career double-double, as the No. 11/10 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (22-3, 14-1 SAC) topped Tusculum University (10-12, 6-8 SAC), 97-88, on Saturday at the Levine Center. Willett scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as Diankulu scored 16 and tied a career-high with 12 boards.
Daniel Carr and
Blake Morrow also reached double figures with 16 and 11 points, respectively, as the Royals picked up their third-straight win and completed the season sweep of the Pioneers.
Tusculum was led by 23 points from Donovan Donaldson. Tariq Jenkins scored 19, Dillon Smith had 15 and Trenton Gibson added 12 points.
The Royals outrebounded the Pioneers 40-35 and forced Tusculum into 17 turnovers. Queens shot 49.2 percent from the floor and 35 percent from the 3-point line, while Tusculum shot 45.8 percent and 46.4 percent from distance.
Queens lead by 14 points and halftime and never led by less than eight points in the second half.
