CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team shot a season-worst 30.6 percent from the floor on Wednesday night, falling to non-conference foe Young Harris College by a 70-50 count inside Curry Arena.
Young Harris (3-1) held a 44-39 advantage in total rebounds and shot 41 percent from floor to come away with the road victory. Queens fell to 1-4 overall with the loss.
Sophomore
Jaymi Golden opened the game with a 3-pointer and Queens led by as much as five points at 8-3 following a
Jaleah Goff layup. However, the Mountain Lions tied the score at 10-all with a 7-2 run and led 16-12 after one quarter of action.
The Mountain Lions extended their lead to double digits before halftime and continued to pull away in the second half to put the game out of reach.
Goff paced the Royals with eight points and six rebounds, while juniors
Kristian Eanes and
Caitlyn Moore followed with seven points each.
Queens continues non-conference play this Saturday, Nov. 23, when the team travels to Florence, S.C. to take on Francis Marion University at 1:30 p.m.
