Queens Earns 10th Win of the Season over Mars Hill on Senior Day

Charlotte, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (10-5-1; 4-4 SAC) railed around a stifling defensive effort shutting out Mars Hill (1-12-1; 1-7 SAC) by a final score of 3-0.

The eventual game-winning goal occurred in the opening 15 seconds by junior forward Emma-Rose Stockton. Stockton has scored in each of the last five games and added her second in the 87th minute.

Mars Hill limited the damage in the first half and maintained a one-score deficit through 81 minutes. Queens limited the visiting Lions to 3 total shots and padded their lead in the closing minutes with goals from freshman forward Nia Gaither and Stockton closing out a 3-0 victory. Gaither's goal ties her at the top of the South Atlantic Conference leaders with 10 on the season. The Royals pitched their second consecutive shutout totaling six for the season.

Seniors Taylor Hunkele, Leanne Bryant, and Taylor Wilcox were honored at the halftime Senior Day ceremony.
