MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team traveled to face No. 2 Millersville (10-2) in a nonconference game this afternoon falling 5-0 to the Marauders to move to 7-5 on the year.
 
After holding Millersville scoreless in the opening quarter, the Royals found themselves trailing the Marauders 3-0 at the halftime break following three quick goals scored by the home team in the second quarter. Millersville then found the back of the cage twice more early in the third quarter to increase the margin to five, and give the game what would eventually be its final score.
 
Queens was outshot 19-5 as the Marauders put 12 shots on goal compared the Royals' two shots on goal. Additionally, Millersville earned 15 penalty corners to Queens' four.
 
Leighton Eber and Jenna Lloyd each recorded a shot on goal in the loss while Avian Thompson recorded six saves in goal.
 
Hannah Brown, Emma Boutcher, Erica Tarsi, Kate Strickland, and Ashlynn Lennon each recorded goals for Millersville.
 
The Royals will be back in action on Tuesday, October 15 at Frostburg State. Play is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
