Charlotte - The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (8-4-1; 2-3 SAC) tied last season's win total with three second-half goals defeating Shaw (4-7) by a score of 4-1.
Scoring chances came early and often from Queens and junior forward Emma Rose Stockton punched the scoreboard first with her second goal of the season off a cross from freshman Nia Gaither. Shaw later tied the match with a connection between Jasa Curry and Teffie-Ann Browne to erase the deficit before halftime.
The Royals wasted no time in the second half with the eventual game-winning goal from Gaither in the 45th minute. Gaither was assisted by fellow freshman Keely Jackson who added a goal of her own in the 67th minute to ensure a two-score lead.
Queens continued its attack with an additional goal five minutes later from junior midfielder Taylor Ward to surpass its season high with four goals scored.
Queens returns to action and resumes South Atlantic Conference play Wednesday, October 16th at Wingate at 5 p.m.
