HARTSVILLE, S.C. – For the second time this month, the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team picked up a win over South Atlantic Conference foe Coker College. The Royals completed their three-game road trip with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-22) victory over the Cobras in the DeLoach Center.

Queens, which took down the Cobras in a five-set thriller back on September 4 in Charlotte, improved to 7-8 overall and 3-5 in SAC play following the win. Coker fell to 8-5 overall and remained winless in league matchups with an 0-4 record.

Sophomore
Logan Witt led all players with 14 kills and hit .406 from the middle, while fellow sophomore
Casey Tarvin followed with nine kills, two service aces and a team-high 19 digs.

Three more sophomores,
JayCee Jones,
Jordan Proszenyak and
Olivia Williamson played key parts on defense for Queens. Prosenyak and Jones had 15 and 17 digs, respectively, while Williamson registered five total blocks. Junior
Mallory Swarts had 32 assists and 10 digs for her fourth double-double performance.

After the Cobras got the first point of the match, Queens scored two unanswered points and never trailed for the remainder of the first set for an early 1-0 lead. The Royals once again built an early lead in the second set at 6-3, and despite a few tie scores, cruised to a seven-point win in the second frame.

Coker rebounded in the third set, getting out to 13-10 lead before Queens put together seven consecutive points to gain a four-point edge. The Cobras were able to cut the deficit to one point multiple times and eventually tied the set at 22-all, but the Royals regained the lead on a Coker error and put the match away with a Tarvin kill and a service ace from Proszenyak.

Queens returns home this weekend as the team continues conference play against Carson-Newman University on Saturday, Sept. 29 inside Curry Arena at the Levine Center. First serve is set for 2 p.m. in Charlotte.
