HARROGATE, Tenn.  – The second-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team traveled to face No. 1 Lincoln Memorial University for a share of the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Title falling 80-65 to the Railsplitters. Queens will enter the postseason with its best regular season record in program history at 26-2 while finishing second in the league with an 18-2 record. The Railsplitters improve to 27-1 on the year while claiming the regular season title at 20-0 in SAC play. Â

Ike Agusi matched his career-high recording 20 points for a third time this season.
Shaun Willett added 15 points, and
Daniel Carr chipped in with 10 points.

The Royals quickly found themselves trailing the Railsplitters today after Lincoln Memorial opened with a 13-2 run. By 14:57 they had increased their advantage over Queens, 20-5, and would lead by as much as 19 points before taking a 43-29 lead into the break. For the half, Queens shot 35.48-percent from the floor compared to 43.24-percent shooting by the Railsplitters.

A 13-3 run by Queens in the second half helped the Royals close the gap to five, 49-44, by the 12:49 mark. However, a 10-2 spurt for the Railsplitters followed increasing their lead back out to 13, 61-48, with 7:30 on the clock. Queens cut the margin to 10 on a layup by Willett at 6:46, but that was as close as Queens would get before Lincoln Memorial moved in front by as much as 17 points before eventually taking the 15-point win.

The Royals entered today's game averaging 88.5 points on 52.1-percent shooting over their last 10 games. They finished today with a 42.9 shooting percentage. Queens also averaged 20.5 assists in its last 10 games, though they finished with eight this afternoon.

Cornelius Taylor led the Railsplitters with 24 points. Dorian Pinson and Emanuel Terry both recorded double-doubles with 21 points and 13 rebounds and 18 points and 10 rebounds, respectively. Josh Odem totaled eight points and 10 rebounds.

This afternoon's game was the seventh regular-season matchup between a first and second-ranked team since 1983. It was the 15
th-ever meeting between a first and second-ranked team in Division II. It was also a part of the DII Basketball Showcase streamed live on ESPN3.

Queens will host the quarterfinal round of the SAC Championships in Curry Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
