Queens Falls in Battle with No. 6 Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa.  – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team traveled to face No. 6 Bloomsburg University this morning falling 4-0 to the Huskies. The loss snapped the Royals' six-game win streak and brought their overall record to 6-2 on the year. The Huskies improved to 6-2 after grabbing the win.
 
The Royals took 10 shots today, putting seven on goal. Mazvita Mtisi led Queens' attack putting all four of her shots on frame, while Jill Sherman totaled three shots. Jet van den Berg took the loss in goal after recording 11 saves.
 
The Huskies scored a goal in the third minute of today's game and took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. They then scored on a penalty stroke early in the second half to extend their advantage to 2-0 before finding the back of the cage twice more, in the 57th and 62nd, to secure the shutout win over the Royals
 
Bloomsburg totaled 22 shots in their win, putting 15 shots on frame. The Huskies also won today's battle for penalty corners earning 15 to Queens' six. Additionally, Dana Sheply recorded the win in goal after totaling six saves.
 
The Royals will look to bounce back on Tuesday, October 9 when they face Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. The game slated to begin at 2 p.m.
