SALISBURY, N.C. – Sophomore outside
Casey Tarvin totaled 21 kills and 23 digs in leading the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team to a 3-2 (25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 22-25, 15-6) win over Catawba College inside Goodman Gymnasium.

JayCee Jones had a career-high 38 digs on defense, while junior
Mallory Swarts guided the offense with 45 assists to go along with 17 digs and two service aces. Jones' dig total is the third highest mark in program history and the second highest dig total in a five-set match.
Two other players finished with double-digit kills in the match as sophomore
Jordan Proszenyak and
Logan Witt had 13 kills apiece. Proszenyak also had 13 digs for her 12
th double-double of the year. As a team, the Royals (11-11, 7-8 SAC) had nine service aces, including four from sophomore
Chanel Turner.
Queens never trailed in the first or second sets of play, leading to an early 2-0 match lead following back-to-back 25-17 set scores.
However, Catawba (6-18, 2-11 SAC) responded with a two-point win in the third to keep the match alive. The Royals looked to seal the sweep after beginning the fourth set with a 7-0 run, but the Indians fought their way back to win the frame and force a deciding fifth set.
In the final set of action Queens committed just three attack errors and cruised to a convincing 15-6 victory on the road.
Queens returns home for two weekend matches, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest against Mars Hill University on Friday, Oct. 19 inside Curry Arena.
