Highlights
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 2 Queens University of Charlotte handled Coker College this evening defeating the Cobras, 102-74, at home to complete its fourth season series sweep in a row over a league opponent. The Royals move to 21-1 on the year and 13-1 in the South Atlantic Conference with the victory while Coker falls to 8-13 on the season and 5-8 in league play.

Ike Agusi scored 20 points to lead the Royals this evening and match his career-high. The senior guard also totaled five assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Mike Davis added 16 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals while
Todd Withers had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks for his sixth double-double of the year.
Lewis Diankulu recorded 12 points and three rebounds, and
Jalin Alexander totaled 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Freshman forward
Solomon Smith also totaled 10 points for a new career-high.

Queens quickly jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the first half of tonight's game before the Cobras put together a run of their own to trail 13-12 with 15:20 on the clock. The Cobras would then take a 19-18 lead at 12:27 on a three-pointer from Demarco Jackson. Six lead changes followed before back-to-back triples from Agusi and Davis helped Queens take a 42-35 lead into the locker room at the break. Â Â Â

The Royals came out hitting on all cylinders in the second half using a 12-2 run to expand their lead to 17 points by 16:23. By the midway point of the half, the Cobras had cut Queens' advantage down to 10, but the Royals' top-notch defense would halt Coker's comeback efforts forcing 10 turnovers to score 16 points in the period. Queens' largest lead of the night came with 36 seconds to play when
Trevor Recio collected a steal and traveled the length of the court for a fast-break dunk that sent the crowd to its feet.

Queens shot 61-percent from the floor this evening after shooting 66.7-percent in the second half. The Royals also outscored Coker 52-16 in the paint and recorded 44 total rebounds to Coker's 24.

Khalil Halls led Coker with 16 points while Marquis Green and Donte Samuels added 12 points each. Jackson chipped in with 10 points.

Queens is off on Saturday, Feb. 3, and they will be back in action at Wingate University on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Queens defeated the Bulldogs in the first meeting between the pair by a score of 74-58 to now lead the all-time series, 20-14. Queens was led by Alexander who totaled 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Davis added 12 points, nine rebounds, and three steals while Agusi totaled 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Withers chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
