CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team tested its strength this afternoon against No. 9 Limestone College falling 11-4 to the No. 9 team in the country. The Royals now sit at 2-6 on the year while the Saints remain undefeated at 8-0.

After building a 5-1 lead at the break, the Saints extended their lead to six in the 38
th on a goal from Kate Remley. Three straight goals from Queens soon followed from
Sta'sha Waterfield,
Renee Smith, and
Jill Sherman making the score 6-3 in the 44
th. However, Sherman's goal would be the final of the day for the home team as the Saints closed with five unanswered points to take the seven-point victory.

The Royals were outshot 25-12, putting 10 shots on goal to Limestone's 16. Smith led Queens with two goals after totaling three shots on goal.
Miranda Childers recorded five saves in the cage.

Kelly Diplock led Limestone with four goals while Lauren Pelkey added three goals. Tabria Cochran totaled six saves. In goal.

Queens is back in action at home on Sunday at noon against Bellarmine University. It will be the second time that the two teams have met this season. The Royals won the first match, 6-3.
