NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team lost 2-0 on the road at Newberry College this afternoon bringing their overall record to 1-4 on the year. The Wolves improve to 4-2 with the win.

The Royals outshot Newberry, 12-9, putting six shots on goal to the Wolves' five. Unfortunately, they would come up short finding the back of the cage on any of their shots as Newberry succeeded twice to secure the win.

Both Newberry goals would come in the second half where both offenses took eight shots each. Kristyna Oyola of the Wolves was the first to score in the 36
th minute of play, and an insurance goal followed in the 56
th from the stick of Farai Kawonde.

Mazvita Mtisi led the Royals with five shots.
Maya Forbes followed with three shots, and
Jill Sherman totaled two shots. Queens goalkeeper
Kelsey Fringer recorded three saves in 70 minutes of play.

Queens will remain on the road for their next two games. They will face both Lindenwood University and Bellarmine University in St. Charles, Mo. Last season, the Royals defeated the Lions, 3-2, in overtime, and the game with Bellarmine will be the first in program history. Queens will take on Lindenwood at noon on September 23 and Bellarmine at 11 a.m. on September 24.
