CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team defeated Lincoln Memorial University, 4-0, this afternoon to earn their first South Atlantic Conference win of the season. The Royals now have a 3-1-1 overall record and a 1-1 league record, while the Railsplitters drop to 3-3 on the year and 0-2 in the SAC.

Queens found its first goal of the day in the 34
th minute coming from the boot of
Charlotte Ring when she stepped in on a defensive pass and gathered the ball to fire a shot into the back of the net. The Royals then took the 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half,
Alana Jefferson intercepted a pass from Lincoln Memorial's keeper, Brooke Taylor, and shot it past her to put the Royals ahead, 2-0, in the 60
th.
Thea Mallet then followed with a goal in the 68
th after receiving a long pass from Ring to go one versus one with the Railsplitters keeper. Mallet would also score the Royals' final goal of the day in the 84
th on an open net after pulling the keeper out of position.

Queens outshot Lincoln Memorial, 20-5, putting nine shots on goal to the Railsplitters' one shot on goal. The Royals also earned five corner kicks to Lincoln Memorials' two. Goalkeeper
Rachel Quest recorded one save in the match, while Brooke Taylor of the Railsplitters totaled five saves.

Queens is back in action at home on Dickson Field for their next SAC matchup against Tusculum College. The Royals fell, 2-1, to the Pioneers on the road last year during the regular season with Thea Mallet scoring the lone Queens goal. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
