COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's rugby teams remain undefeated after returning from the University of South Carolina with a pair of wins. The women won 34-15, while the men won 60-0 facing USC's developmental squad.
Bridget Mielke led the Royals women with three tries and two conversions.
Abby Tobias,
Tori Wilson and
Asiah Peterson added one try each.
The men were led by Mitch McCartney and
Rylee Ellsworth who each totaled two tries. McCartney also recorded three conversions, while
Stanton Johnson totaled two conversions and one try.
Benji Hund,
John Monroe,
Decor Davis,
Benjamin Clipstone, and
Alex Balladares also recorded one try apiece.
Both teams will travel to face Notre Dame College in Ohio on Saturday, September 16. The men will take the field at 10 a.m. and the women will follow at noon.
