Royals Men's Tennis is NCAA Tournament Bound

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis will see its season continue as they have been selected as the No. 8 seed in the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Tournament as announced earlier this evening. 

Back-to-back South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champions, Queens (16-1) will face ninth-seeded and Conference Carolinas Champion Barton College in the opening match of the regional tournament on Friday, April 28 in Columbus, Ga. at the John W. Walden CSU Tennis Complex. 

The winner between the Royals and Bulldogs will then go on to face top-seeded and Peach Belt Champion Columbus State University on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Royals enter the NCAA postseason on a 15-match win streak as they went undefeated in SAC play and against all NCAA Division II challengers. QU clinched its second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth by defeating Wingate University, 5-3, on Saturday, April 22. 

The Bulldogs enter the match-up 14-8 overall having upset Belmont Abbey College, 5-0, in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship this past Sunday. Former conference rivals, Queens and Barton will square off for the first time since April 2013 when the Royals prevailed 8-1 at Freedom Park.

Columbus State enters at the top-seed after defeating Armstrong State in the Peach Belt Tournament Championship. The other half of the regional will feature fourth-seeded North Georgia and fifth-seeded Flagler.
