MARS HILL, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team bounced back today with a 119-78 road win over Mars Hill University. The win helps the Royals, who rank No. 2 in the DII Media Poll and No. 6 in the NABC Poll, complete the home-and-home series sweep over the Lions this season. Queens now sits at 22-2 on the year and 16-2 in South Atlantic Conference play, while Mars Hill falls to 5-19 on the year and 3-15 in the league.

Queens was led by
Mike Davis who connected on 7-of-10 shots to total 23 points. The guard was just one of seven Royals to reach double-digit scoring today as
Daniel Carr followed with a new career-high 17 points.
Daniel Camps added 15 points, while
Jalin Alexander,
Darryl White, and
Todd Withers each scored 11 points.
Ike Agusi chipped in with 10 points.

After a 10-10 tie at 15:42, the Royals used a 15-3 run to build a 25-13 lead with 11:24 to play in the first half. Queens' domination would continue as the lead grew to 21 on a layup from
Tate Small at 8:49. The Lions closed the gap to 14 points at 5:42, but another run at the close of the period would send the Royals in to the locker room ahead 60-38.

The Royals never relinquished control of the game in the second half as their shots continued to fall with ease. They would see their largest lead of the day when a pair of free-throws from White put Queens on top by 47 points, 110-63, with 4:57 to play.

Queens shot 60-percent from the floor this evening, performing in the second half with a 65.63-percent clip. The Royals also outscored the Lions 62-28 in the paint, and forced Mars Hill to commit 18 turnovers which were converted into 30 points. Additionally, Queens' bench put 49 points on the board.

Bennett Wilson led the Lions with 19 points, while Cody Hylton added 12 points.

Queens is back at home in Curry Arena on Wednesday, February 15 against Catawba College. The Royals defeated the Indians on January 4 by a score of 83-77. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
