ANDERSON, S.C. – Queens University of Charlotte's
Lewis Diankulu had a career night this evening as the No. 2 Royals defeated Anderson University, 90-79, in South Atlantic Conference play. The Royals improve to 8-0 on the year and 3-0 in league play with the win while the Trojans fall to 2-8 on the year and 0-3 in the SAC.

Diankulu led the Royals with a new career-high 20 points after connecting on 9-of-11 shots from the floor. He also totaled eight rebounds in the win.
Shaun Willett recorded a double-double off the bench totaling 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
Todd Withers also scored 13 points while
Ike Agusi contributed 11 points.
Jalin Alexander,
Mike Davis, and
Darryl White recorded 10 points each to give the Royals seven players in double-figure scoring on the night.

After trailing 5-0 to the Trojans early in the game, a lay-in from Diankulu followed by a triple from Withers would knot the score at 5-5. A 10-2 run followed soon after to put the Royals in front 24-13 with 9:02 left to play in the half. However, Anderson would respond with a run of their own that consisted of three straight three-pointers to pull within one, 25-24, with 7:23 on the clock. But 11 unanswered points from Queens then allowed the visitors to build a 15-point lead at the break.

The Royals held a double-digit lead the entire second half of play building the margin out to as much as 22 points before the final horn sounded. Anderson would close the gap to 11 in the final five minutes of play.

Randall Shaw led the Trojans with 20 points while Gage Ellis added 15 points. Maurice Howard totaled 13 points and Christian Jeffords chipped in with 11 points.

Queens is back at home in Curry Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 13 against Carson-Newman University. The Royals swept the Eagles last season winning 112-90 on the road and 72-70 at home. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
