CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball has matched their program record of 12 straight wins after defeating Mars Hill University this evening, 85-57. The Royals, ranked fourth in the nation, will head into their winter break undefeated at 12-0 on the year and 6-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. Mars Hill now sits at 3-7 on the season and 1-4 in the league.

Todd Withers led the Royals after pouring in 25 points to match his career-high. He also totaled seven rebounds.
Ike Agusi totaled 15 points and four assists, while
Jalin Alexander recorded 10 points and four assists.
Jared Hendryx tallied 10 points, six rebounds, and six blocks, while
Darryl White was one point shy of double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Mike Davis chipped with nine points and seven rebounds.

At the half, Queens held a 45-26 lead over the Lions on the back of 20 first half points from Withers. Following a 4-4 tie early in the game, The Royals used an 11-1 run to move ahead 15-5 with 14:36 to play. Queens scored three from deep during the run with two coming from Withers and one coming from Davis. They then outscored Mars Hill 17-10 to hold a 32-15 lead by the under eight media at 6:43. Queens went on to see their largest lead of the period at 2:32 on a tip-in from Hendryx that put the home team up by 24 points, 42-18.

The Lions shot just 33.3-percent from the floor in the opening half, and thanks to Queens' stifling defense they would continue their shooting woes in the second. Additionally, Queens extended their lead in the second half to 28, 68-40, by the midway point. Eventually, they would lead by as much as 35, 84-49, before the final horn sounded.

Makyle Wilkerson and Indians Rotondo led the Lions with 12 points apiece.

The Royals will be on winter break until January 4 when they return to the court to take on Catawba College on the road. The Royals swept the Indians in last season's the home-and-home series, winning 94-79 at home, and falling 95-77 on the road. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
