Queens Set to Host Embassy Suites SAC/PBC Tip-Off Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team is set to host the Embassy Suites South Atlantic Conference/Peach Belt Conference Tip-Off Challenge to open their 2016-17 campaign. The Royals will welcome Anderson University, Armstrong State University and Clayton State University to Curry Arena November 11-12.
 
The Royals enter their 2016-17 campaign after defeating NCAA Division I VCU in an exhibition game last weekend. The Rams have made six straight NCAA appearances and 10 consecutive seasons of 24+ wins. Additionally, they were the A10 Regular Season Co-Champions last season.
 
Queens was ranked second in the SAC Preseason Poll after finishing last season with a 25-7 record. They advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships. Daniel Camps and Todd Withers were both recognized on the Preseason All-SAC Second Team.
 
The Anderson University Trojans were tabbed ninth in the SAC Preseason Poll after finishing ninth with a record of 7-21. Randall Shaw was named to the Preseason All-SAC Second Team.
 
The Armstrong State University Pirates were picked to finish 12th in the PBC Preseason Poll. Armstrong State went 12-15 overall and 10-9 in the PBC in 2015-16, finishing third in the East Division. The Pirates return three players from last season's squad.
 
The Clayton State University Lakers were selected to finish seventh in the PBC Preseason Poll after finishing at 14-12 on the year. Alfonso Davis was named to the PBC Preseason Team.
