FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team returned to action today as they took on the Methodist University Monarchs. The 10th regionally ranked Royals were extremely competitive all day though falling by a score of 5-4. Queens now sits at 3-3 on the season.
In doubles action Queens was led by the strong pairing of
Christiaan Lee-Daigle (Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, L'Essor Secondary School) and
Raahil Dhruva (London, England, Parmiter's), as well as,
Joshua Bloch (Johannesburg, South Africa, King David) and
Ignacio Casali (Farmingdale, N.Y., Farmingdale) who won 8-5 and 8-3, respectively.
After dropping the third doubles match, Lee-Daigle and Bloch got the Royals off to a great start in singles winning at the one and two positions.
However, Queens lost their momentum dropping the final four singles matches giving the victory to the Monarchs.
The Royals return to action this upcoming Saturday as they travel to take on Elon University.
