Royals drop match to the Saints

Box Score GAFFNEY S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team travelled to Limestone today in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Coming into the match with a seven game conference winning streak the Royals struggled offensively, and dropped the match 3-0.
 
In the first set the Royals battled back-and-forth with Limestone in a tightly contested affair. With the score tied 25-25 Limestone rattled off two quick points to end the match at 27-25. The Royals continued to battle throughout the match, but could not get the offense going and only hit .105 on the day. Despite their stuggles, Queens continued to keep every set close but dropped the next two by the scores of 25-21 and 25-23.
 
The Royals were led in kills by Keri Kemp (Lake Mary, Fla.) with 12 and Brittney Barren (Ham Lake, Minn.) with nine. Taylor Riley (Lynchburg, Va.) paced the offence with 26 assists on the day from her setter position. Defensively Alexa Sparrell (Winter Park, Fla.) picked up 12 digs, and Riley added 10 of her own.
 
The Royals return to action this Tuesday when they host Lees-McRae for Senior Day. Queens currently stands at 17-11 overall and 10-2 in conference play.
