CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Softball (10-8) fell to No. 15 Lenoir-Rhyne 4-0 at Bear Field in Hickory, N.C. on Wednesday afternoon.
Megan Lathbury (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) had the Royals only hit of the day. She hit a single and was just one of two batters to get on base.
The Queens defense led by pitcher
Brandy Jester (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) held of the Bears until the third inning when Kristen Lackey's run-scoring single drove in the opening run. The Bears posted single runs in each of the next three innings for the 4-0 win.
Jester drops to 5-5 on the year and L-R's Dawon Millwood earned the win to improve to 6-1.
Queens hosts Erskine on Thursday afternoon at Park Road Park. First pitch is at 3:30pm.
