CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team couldn't keep pace with Lees-McRae College Tuesday night, as they fell in consecutive sets 25-9, 25-16, and 25-19 for their first conference loss of the season.
Despite their offensive struggles, the Royals continued to receive major contributions from
Ashley Winters (Fredericktown, Ohio, Highland), who tallied seven kills on nine attempts to hit an incredible .778. Winters also labored defensively, adding a team-high three blocking assists.
Freshmen
Taylor Riley (Lynchburg, Va., E.C. Glass) and
Avery Moore (Arlington, Texas, Lamar) found their way into the box score, adding 10 and seven assists, respectively.
The Royals are back in action Friday evening when they travel to Due West, S.C. for a 6:30 match against Erskine College.
