The Queens University of Charlotte men's golf team traveled to Hampton, Ga. to play in the State-Farm Laker Collegiate Classic hosted by Clayton State University on September 28-30. The Royals finished 10th out of 14 teams, respectively, with a three round score of 886. Winning the tournament with an even par score, 864, was the University of West Florida.
Robert Andrew Hodge (Hebron, Ky., Conner) and Craig Deberg (Edina, Minn., Edina)led the Royals finishing 19th in a tie with three other competitors. Hodge shot a consistent 73 for each round giving him a total of 219, three over par. Deberg stuck with Hodge shooting 72, 76, and 71 respectively in the three rounds giving him a total of 219, also three over par.
The Royals host the Queens University of Charlotte Invitational at Pinecrest Golf Club on Oct. 11-14. The tournament is being held in conjunction with the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, S.C..
