Julika Blankenship joined the Royals in Summer 2013 as the head women’s lacrosse coach after leading Washington College’s program for five seasons.
In just two seasons she has led the Royals in earning back-to-back South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Titles. Queens has also won two consecutive SAC Women's Lacrosse Championships. In 2014, Blankenship was honored as SAC Coach of the Year after leading the Royals to a ranking as high as eighth in the nation. The following the season Queens closed the year ranked 12th in the nation.
The Shorewoman turned in winning records in four straight seasons with Blankenship at the helm. In 2011, she led her team to 11 wins, which was the most the program had seen since the 2003 season. The Shorewoman also reached the Centennial Conference Tournament that year picking up their first ever tournament victory, and Blankenship earned Coach of the Year honors.
Washington’s 2013 season marked the third consecutive season that the Shorewoman made an appearance in the conference tournament after posting an impressive 13-5 season record where they were ranked as high as 18th in the nation.
Before joining Washington’s staff as an assistant in 2005 and getting promoted to the head coaching position in 2008, Blankenship served as an assistant coach at Division I University of California Davis from 2004-2005.
Prior to entering the coaching profession Blankenship was a standout student-athlete at Gettysburg College, where she finished her career as the all-time leader in both points (309) and assists (160). As a senior captain, she led the Bullets to their third consecutive Centennial Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 2004. She was named a first team All-American by the IWLCA/US Lacrosse, Inside Lacrosse, and Womenslacrosse.com and was selected as the Centennial Conference and ECAC Southern Player of the Year. Blankenship, who was also a second team Inside Lacrosse All-American as a junior, put up back-to-back 100-point seasons in her final two years with the Bullets, breaking the single-season school record for assists in each of those seasons.
Blankenship graduated from Gettysburg with a bachelor's degree in Spanish in 2004. She also earned a master’s degree from Washington in psychology in 2008.
