Thiago Andrade of the Queens University of Charlotte men’s soccer team has been named the InterCon Male Student-Athlete of the Month for his play on the field in the month of September.

“Despite being a newcomer, Thiago has made a tremendous impact on our team on and off the field,” said Coach Oliver Carias. “He has been a team leader without being a captain.”

The junior transfer scored five goals and notched two assists to total 12 points in Queens’ eight games during the month. The Royals went 4-4 defeating Brevard, Pfeiffer, Lees-McRae and Mount Olive earning a spot in the NSCAA Southeast Region Polls two weeks in a row. One of Andrade’s top performances came in the Royals’ win over the Trojans when he scored two goals and recorded an assist. He also netted two goals in the win over the Tornados.
