Keri Kemp (Lake Mary, Fla., Lake Mary) of the volleyball team has been selected as the September InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month after helping the Royals go 9-6 overall and 5-1 in Conference Carolinas.

The junior outside hitter is currently leading the teams in kills with 248 and is averaging 2.82 kills a set. She also has compiled 15 service aces and a total of 78 digs and 39 block assists and two solo blocks on the year.

Kemp is a team captain and represents the volleyball team on SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) where she serves as an officer. She also works with elementary school children at Sedgefield Elementary where she volunteers as a tutor. Kemp plans to graduate from Queens in May, but will return for her final year of eligibility in Fall 2013 and begin her perquisite path of occupational therapy.
