Alex Kunert of the men's swimming team has been named January InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month.

Kunert, a freshman swimmer for the Royals, compiled 11 first-place finishes in the month of January for Queens, and helped them secure their first-ever win over NCAA Division I South Carolina. The swimmer set a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle on January 11 in Queens’ win against Catawba en route to picking up three wins before claiming four victories and setting a pool record in the 400-yard freestyle relay at the Royals’ meet against Duke and William & Mary. He then closed the month collecting four wins in the Royals’ win over the Gamecocks.
