Coach Delgado is entering her third season as part of the Royals cross country and track and field staff. In her first season, Delgado served as a volunteer coach working primarily with the sprinters and the throwers.

While assisting the men’s and women’s cross country teams during the 2010 season, the Royals saw much success on the course. Both teams captured Conference Carolinas Championships and Southeast Region Championships, advancing to the NCAA Championship. On the national stage, Queen’s women finished ninth overall while the men placed 12th.

The Silver Spring, Md. native is a 2010 graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a bachelor’s in exercise science and a minor in psychology. While working towards her degree, Delgado competed for the 49ers cross country and track teams during the 2004-2005 seasons. She competed in the 800m and 1500m events for track.

Delgado coached within the AAU track and field program for Charlotte Elite Track Club for two years and has been a dedicated personal trainer for Emerge Yoga & Fitness.

Delgado is a published author, publishing an article in the International Journal of Sport and Society discussing the biomechanical principals of the discus spin. Currently, she is working on research within sport psychology with relation to the social facilitation theory and training age. Additionally, she has contributed to information sessions, lectures, and demonstrations for West Cabarrus YMCA and TrySports focusing on exercise science, nutrition, youth exercise and performance for runners.

Currently she is running for TrySports and is working on a dual master’s degree in sports studies and sports coaching from the United State Sports Academy. She holds a Level I USA Track and Field coaching certification. Delgado also holds a USATF Level II certification for the Throws and has held an A.C.E. personal trainer’s certification since 2008.
