Francesca Bains

Francesca Bains joined the Queens swimming staff in July of 2024.

Bains graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in 2021. Bains is a 16-time All-American and an individual 2021 NCAA National Champion in the 1650 Free. During her time as a Royal, she set school records in the 1000 and 1650 Free, and served as a team captain her junior and senior seasons. She played a key part in the Royals winning three NCAA National Championships and four Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships. Her junior year, the NCAA Championship was cut short due to the pandemic.

Francesca graduated from Queens with a degree in elementary education. Bains served as the president for both Student Athletic Advisory Committee and of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education.

Upon graduating, Bains completed her student teaching at Nations Ford Elementary School where she was immersed in a Kindergarten classroom. Once finishing her student teaching, she immediately was hired on as full time staff and was moved up to third grade for the following school year. Bains finished her third year teaching this school year at nearby Selwyn Elementary as a third grade teacher.

Bains looks forward to getting back on deck with the Royals.

"I am excited and eager to give back to the Queens swimming program as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season," Bains said. The program helped shape me as an educator by preparing me to lead a classroom and overcome obstacles that occur daily in a teaching setting. My goal is to continue to learn from the outstanding coaching staff and athletes at Queens. I look forward to supporting the athletes in their collegiate journey and help prepare them for life outside of the water."
