Megan Sload

Megan Sload comes to the Royals after serving as assistant coach for the Guilford College women's soccer program. Before joining the Quakers, Sload spent time as a volunteer coach at Queens during the 2013 season. She also has Charlotte United Futbol Club coaching experience having been a head coach for the Under 8 Pre Academy during the 2013-2014 fall and spring soccer seasons. Adding to her coaching experience, Sload has worked with the North Carolina Olympic Development Program as an evaluator for all age groups as well as a chaperone at the Region III camps.
 
Coach Talbert stated, "Coach Duffy and I are excited for what Megan will bring in regards to recruiting, scouting, game and practice analysis, player support, and positional training. Her pride in Queens Women's Soccer is contagious, and our student-athletes will benefit exponentially from her loyalty, and the support she will provide the program." 
 
Prior to becoming a coach, Sload was a soccer player here at Queens from 2009 – 2013. During that time she played in 67 games to total 12 goals and five assists. Following her freshmen season, Sload was named Most Improved Player after starting in 21 games. She went on to earn the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference award in her junior and senior seasons. Additionally, she was named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll in the fall and spring of her junior year, and again in the spring of her senior year.
 
In addition to joining the Royals this spring, Sload will enter her first year as head coach of the varsity women's soccer team at Harding University High School here in Charlotte, N.C. She also has a Class E License.
 
 "I am extremely excited to join the staff at Queens and want to thank Coach Talbert for this incredible opportunity," Sload stated. "I am looking forward to working with the girls and being a part of this successful program."
 
Sload holds a degree in mathematics with a minor in studio art from Queens.
